UShs 1.7b for CHOGM Promotional Activities Abroad

Government plans to spend an estimated 1.7 billion shillings on promotional activities abroad, ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in November.
The CHOGM National Task Force Spokesperson, Kagole Kivumbi, says government wants to promote Uganda's image particularly in the United Kingdom, India, the United States of America, and South Africa.
He says the publicity is intended to assure the Countries about Uganda's readiness to host the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.

In another development, Government will soon announce Companies that have won bids to promote CHOGM locally.
17 Companies applied for bids to carry out pre-event publicity, to raise awareness about the CHOGM Meeting in Uganda.
