Bundibugyo Flood Victims Receive Aid

News
About 2000 flood victims from Bundibugyo district have received a donation of relief items from the Office of the Prime Minister, a month after their homes and fields were inundated.

The items distributed today included eight metric tonnes of Posho and two metric tonnes of Beans.

The Bubandi LC3 chairperson Rashid Kawamara , However says the items are insufficient to meet the needs of all the flood victims.

Last month, floods swept away crops and houses after river Lamya burst its banks because of the heavy rains. The villages which were severely affected by the floods are Busunga, Bundingoma and Mulingitanwa in Bubandi sub-county.
