Three clan groups in Karamoja have signed a peace pact to end cattle rustling and inter-clan clashes.
During a meeting at Lotome church of Uganda in Moroto district, the Bokora, Pian and Matheniko tribesmen agreed in principle to end cattle rustling and inter-clan tribal clashes.
The tribesmen condemned the bloodshed and misery that has resulted from cattle rustling activities, orchestrated mainly by the youths commonly known as karachunas.
The Third Division Commander, Col Patrick Kankiriho, described the peace deal as the best option to end blood shed in Karamoja.
