Mbale Municipality MP In Trouble Over Failure to Attend Council Sessions

Politics
Mbale Municipal council has resolved to petition the speaker of Parliament to compel the municipality Member of Parliament, Wilfred Kajeke, to attend council meetings.
The Mbale Municipal Council Speaker, Abdul Kutosi, says Kajeke has never attended any council session over the past one year.
Kutosi says Kajeke's failure to attend the sessions has made it difficult for the council to deliberate on critical issues which need government attention.

Kutosi explains that Mbale municipal council is currently faced with problems of pension arrears and shortfalls in funding. Kutosi says pension arrears have accumulated to 1.8 billion shillings and wants the matter to be brought to the attention of parliament.
When contacted, Kajeke however declined to comment on the concerns raised by the councilors.
