Lango College Receives 3-Year-Ban from Coca Cola Post Primary Tournament

Sport
Lango College has been banned from the Coca Cola Post Primary Schools Football tournament currently taking place at Jinja Senior Secondary school for Impersonation.
The three-year ban was announced yesterday; shortly after the tournament's technical committee discovered that one of the team's players had impersonated his brother identified as Walter Egwang.
The disgraced team arrived back in Lira this morning to a lukewarm reception from football fans in the district.
According to the Coca cola Technical committee chairman, Fred Balenzi, Lira College becomes the fourth school to attract a three year ban in the ongoing tournament. The others are Nakasongola SS, Kasenyi SS from Mubende district, and Rock Giants from Mityana district.
Balenzi says the tournament organizers have asked the education ministry to introduce photographs on the PLE pass slips, in order to control impersonation.
PLE Pass slips are used to assess the players age.
The tournament has entered the quarter finals this morning with matches between defending champions Kitende SS and Kibuli, Masaka and Old Kampala, Mulusa and Nyakasura, while Namagabi is playing against Tororo Progressive Academy.
The finals are set for Saturday.
