Musasizi Kifefe Hospitalized

News
Musasizi Kifefe, one of the People's Redemption Army (PRA), suspects has been admitted at Mulago Hospital suffering from Liver related complications.
Musasizi who alongside nine other Peoples Redemption Army (PRA) suspects is charged with Treason and murder, was first hospitalized at Luzira government prison hospital, and later transferred to Mulago Hospital on Monday, on the recommendation of the prison's doctor.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, a source at Mulago Hospital said that Kifefe is admitted in the VIP ward, where he is being treated for Liver related complications.
The source says Musasizi's condition has stabilized and that he was due for a scan later today to establish the cause of the complications.
Access to his hospital room has been restricted to a few close family members, who must seek clearance from security personnel before they can see him. Prisons, police and plain clothed security officers have been deployed outside the VIP ward.
The source says that Kifefe first complained of liver problems while at Nyamushekyera government prison in Bushenyi, where he was jailed shortly after new murder charges were slapped on the PRA suspects.
In March, Lawyers representing the people's redemption Army rebel suspects said they were disturbed by the deplorable conditions of the three PRA suspects who were transferred to Bushenyi and jailed at Nyamushekyera Government prison.
They said that their clients were crammed in a ward with more than 160 prisoners.
Prison facilities such as toilets and bathrooms were overused, due to overcrowding. Flush toilets had broken down and were replaced with buckets, particularly at night. They said that the Toilets were filthy, and most wards smelled badly.
