My Brother is a Victim of Gross Human Rights Abuse - Kizza Besigye

Politics
Forum for Democratic Change president, Kizza Besigye, has said his brother Musasizi Kifefe is a victim of gross human rights abuse.
Kifefe, who is admitted in Mulago Hospital with kidney complications, has been in jail for the past three years despite being grated bail by the High Court. Together with his brother Besigye, he accused of a range of crimes including terrorism and treason. He and two other suspected members of the rebel People's Redemption Army are also facing murder charges.
Kifefe first complained of health complications while in detention at Nyamushekyera government prison in Bushenyi. He told journalists in Bushenyi that his health began to deteriorate after he and his co-accused where beaten up by security operatives at the High Court in Kampala during the now-infamous siege of the court on March 1st.
Because he is a prisoner, access to Kifefe's hospital room is restricted to close family members. Besigye has been denied permission to see his brother in Mulago, but says that is not an issue compared the overarching concern that his brother has not been full access to justice under the law.

In March lawyers representing Kifefe and his co-accused said their clients were being kept in deplorable conditions in Bushenyi. They said the suspects were crammed in a ward with 160 other prisoners.
