The Lira Municipality Member of parliament, Jimmy Akena, has been evicted from Uganda house.
Akena, son to the former president of Uganda, Dr Apollo Milton Obote, has been given a one months notice by the Milton Obote foundation, to find an alternative place of residence by May 30th.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, a source at Uganda House told Uganda Radio Network, that the decision to evict Akena was reached at during a meeting convened on Tuesday last week.
Akena was also accused of sabotaging activities of the Milton Obote foundation. Recently, Akena and his mother- The UPC president Miria Obote placed a caveat on Uganda House, blocking its sale to one of the city tycoons.
During the meeting, management of the Milton Obote foundation said that Akena should leave Uganda House because it is not a family property.
Proffesor Patrick Rubayihayo, a member of the Milton Obote Foundation has defended the evictions, saying it is s normal procedure for stubborn residents on Uganda house.
