$5m for Water, Sanitation Services In Rakai and Masaka

The United Nations Habitat has donated 5 million US Dollars to improve the water and sanitation services in Masaka and Rakai districts urban centers.

The money is channeled through the Lake Victoria Water and Sanitation Initiative (LWSI) and will be distributed to the Local authorities for the projects implementation.

The LWSI National Chief Technical Advisor, James Mbabaali, work will begin with Nyendo town in Masaka, Kyotera and Mtukula towns in Rakai district. He says the money will be used to construct pit latrines and to renovate the drainage system.
