Bukedea Flood Victims Receive Aid

News
More than 1,000 Flood victims from Bukedea district, have received a donation of relief items from the Office of the Prime Minister, a year after their homes and fields were inundated.

The items distributed yesterday by the state minister for disaster preparedness, Musa Ecweru, included 1,500 hoes and 500 pangas. The items were distributed to flood victims Kachumbala, Kolir and Malera sub-counties yesterday.

Ecweru urged the people to accept the assistance sent by government through support from the Chinese government.

Last year, floods triggered by heavy rains, swept away crops and houses in Bukedea district.

The Bukedea LC5 Vice chairperson, Jennifer Ajilong, said several roads connecting to the district were destroyed.
