The president's son, Major Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has set up camp at Kahindangoma hills on Mt Rwenzori, following reports that a large group of ADF rebels are planning to enter Kasese district through the Rwenzori Mountains.
The second division Army spokesperson, Lt Tabaro Kiconco, says Muhoozi is part of a large number of UPDF soldiers, who have been deployed to the Rwenzori Mountains to carry out surveillance and safeguard the area from possible ADF infiltration.
Tabaro says the army together with the police, is working with local leaders to encourage communities to report any rebel activity and to warn them against collaborating with the ADF.
The Kasese Resident district commissioner Wilson Isingoma, together with his Bundibugyo Counterpart, Samuel Kazinga, have been forced to convene an emergency meeting to discuss security matters.
The meeting on Wednesday will also be attended by heads of security committees from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
