The Southern Region Inspectorate of Government, Wilson Aryaija, has launched an investigation into the academic papers of Moses Twesigye, the Ssembabule district internal Auditor.
Speaking to journalists in Masaka yesterday, Aryaija said that his office has received information that Twesigye used forged academic transcripts to obtain employment through the district service commission.
According to Aryaija, Twesigye, presented to the district service commission, a forged academic transcript indicating that he attained a Bachelor's Degree in accounts in1999 from Makerere University.
Aryaija says that preliminary investigation show that the transcript does not belong to Twesigye. He says that the IGG's office will also scrutinize Twesigye's iOi and iAi level certificates to verify the authenticity of his documents.
He says that if found guilty of tampering with the academic documents, Twesigye will be arrested and prosecuted.
In the meantime, the Chief Administrative Officer, Robert Tumwesigye, says Twesigye has for the last three days, absconded from duty without explanation.
