Justice Ogulli Oumo Withdraws from Mukula's Bail Application Case

News
Hearing of the bail application by Former Health State Ministers, Mike Mukula and Alex Kamugisha, flopped this afternoon after the judge appointed to hear their bail application withdrew from the case.
The two former state health ministers were on Tuesday charged with embezzlement and abuse of office and remanded to Luzira Prisons.
On Wednesday the duo applied for bail and hearing of their application was allocated to high court judge, Justice Ogulli Oumo.
But the Criminal Registrar Roy Byaruhanga, told Mukula and Kamugisha's lawyers this afternoon that Justice Oguli had withdrawn from hearing the application under unclear circumstances.
The Duo's bail application has been re-allocated to Justice Moses Mukiibi who fixed the hearing date for Tuesday next week.
Elly Karuhanga, One of Mukula's defence lawyers said the twist of events has baffled him and pleaded with Justice Mukiibi to review the hearing date.
Justice Mukiibi later agreed to listen to the bail application tomorrow.
Dr Alex Kamugisha is seeking for bail on grounds that he is hypertensive and has 12 dependants. He also wants Court to grant him bail because it is a Constitutional right.
Mukula on the other hand applied for bail on grounds that he has to attend to national duties as NRM Vice Chairman for Eastern Region. He also says that he wants to return his children to school.
