Former state health Minister, Captain Mike Mukula has been released on a non cash bail of 10 million shillings by the high court judge Moses Mukiibi.
Captain Mukula was arrested on Tuesday, from his Bugolobi residence in Kampala and charged with embezzlement.
He together with Dr. Alex Kamugisha and their former senior minister Jim Muhwezi, are accused of embezzling 7.9 billion shillings from the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization.
Mukula however applied for bail on grounds that he is of advanced age. He also argued he has a constitutional right to bail.
Former Minister Okot Ogong, Disaster minister, Musa Ecweru, and former Nyabushozi Member of Parliament, Elly Karuhanga stood surety for Mukula.
