Police in Kampala are stuck with the body of a white man, which was recently discovered at Kabanyanya Island on Lake Victoria.
The body was discovered on Monday by residents of Kabanyanya Island on Lake Victoria near Entebbe. The residents told police that the body could have been washed to the shores by the waves.
The body was taken to the city mortuary, pending an investigation into the identities of the dead man and the cause of death.
The Regional Police Commander, Jim Bitwire, has identified the body as that of a young man in his 20's. He says the young man might have drowned at an unknown location before his body was carried by the waves.
Bitwire however says that nobody has come to claim the body from the city mortuary. He described the incident as strange because no boat accident had been reported to police in the recent past.
