Work on old Soroti-Mbale road Via Kyere-Ochapa to has started just hours after the Soroti LC5 chairman, Steven Ochola, went on a hunger strike over it's state.
Ochola, camped at the roadside saying that he would remain on hunger strike for as long as it takes the executive Engineer, Henry Bigambwa, to rehabilitate the road.
Ochola's demanded the grading of the 25-kilometer soroti-ochapa road stretch.
The grader was sent to start work in less than three hours after Ochola announced his hunger strike.
Ocola says the technical people in the government listen under pressure.
