iKiboko Squadi Evict Vendors out of Nakasero Market

Business
The infamous iKiboko Squadi last night raided Nakasero Market and beat up market vendors, forcing them out of the market.
The vendors, who had earlier refused to vacate the market, were for the whole night engaged in running battles with a gang of stick welding youths.
The iKiboko squadi eventually managed to disorganize and disperse the vendors and then condoned off the vendor's area of operation.
Speaking to URN this morning, the vendors admitted that they were taken off-guard by the fierce squad.

Last week, Kampala City Mayor, Nasser Ntege Ssebagala, defied Parliament and signed a Lease contract of Nakasero Market to city tycoon Hassan Bassaja balaba.
Under the contract, plots 7B and 4B on Market Street have been given to Sheila Investment for 49 years and will be developed into a shopping mall as one unit.
The council also decided that Sheila Investment would get 70% of the market and the Kampala City Council or tenants would retain 30%.
Government had earlier warned Bassaja Balaba against evicting the vendors without finding them alternative space.
