Police in Kasese have arrested three suspected thugs who have been terrorizing the district and its surrounding areas.
The three are Yusuf Masereka and David Kule, both from Kilembe sub-county and Nyansio Kule from Muhokya sub-county in Kasese district.
The district police commander, Felix Ebong, says the trio was arrested during an operation to hunt down suspected criminals.
The operation stems from a rising wave of crime in Kasese district. The defence minister Dr. Crispus Kiyonga, recently ordered the security agents, to beef up their surveillance and track down the suspected criminals.
Kiyonga identified the crime hotspots as Bwera and Kasese town council.
On June 4th, Miria Agaba a trader in Mubuku trading center, was murdered and money worth millions of shillings robbed from her.
The area sub-county chairman, Saulo Maate, says the attackers who struck at around 10: 00 pm were dressed in army fatigues.
