The Sironko district town clerk, Alex Majeme, has been interdicted for violating the leadership code.
Majeme's interdiction stems from reports that he contracted M/S Javia services, a company owned by his wife to construct a road and supply computers to Sironko town council.
Following the reports, the Deputy IGG, Raphael Baku, ordered an investigation which found Majeme liable for wrongdoing.
The IGG said that Majeme violated section eight of the leadership code by indirectly allowing his wife to do business with Sironko town council where he's the accounting officer.
Majeme was also found liable of flouting the local government financial accounting regulations of 1998, by authorizing cash payments to his wife's company instead of using the required cheque.
The Chief Administrative Officer of Sironko has been ordered to immediately arraign Majeme before the District Service Commission (DSC) for dismissal.
In a related development, Baku has ordered the dismissal of four senior staff of Sironko town council.
The four are Zerubabel Nabende, the Physical Planner, Assistant Town Engineer, Ronald Wasukira, Beatrice Namono the Cashier, and Esther Nabende the Assistant Labour Officer.
The IGG has ordered that the four officers be dismissed because they were illegally recruited into office.
The officers were recruited by the current Chief Administrative Officer of Nebbi, Joseph Balisanyuka, with out consent of Sironko District Service Commission.
