Anti-riot police have been deployed, in Manafwa district following an outbreak of violent clashes in the district.
The clashes have been sparked off by a group of people opposed to the location of the newly created Sub-county headquarters in Bubwaya parish.
Residents of Ikali parish who are opposed to the location of the new sub county headquarters clashed with residents of Bubwaya parish, prompting a fierce battle between the two parties.
On Monday, the Ikali parish residents dug trenches along the Manafwa-Butiru road, cutting off traffic between the two parishes.
