Court martial Charges Kazini

Major general James Kazini has been charged with 9 counts of neglect of state duty, and abuse of office by the court martial.



Kazini appeared before the court martial presided over by Gen. Elly Tumwine who read him the 9 counts, in the presence of his lawyer.



Prosecution alleges that kazini conspired to defraud the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces of 61 million shillings. He is also charged with inserting an extra 440 ghost soldiers in the 507 brigade.



Kazini is also charged with misappropriating 200 million shillings that was meant for soldier's salaries.



He has also been charged with disobeying lawful orders, and neglecting state duty.



He has been granted a cash bail of 2M shillings and each of his two surerities were asked to pay 1 million shillings each.
