Two Court-martialed for Murder

Two men have been court martial led in Moroto for the murder of the World Food Program (WFP) driver in Kotido.

Apanangiro Aleper and John Apakule appeared yesterday before third division court-martial in Moroto military barracks to answer charges of murder.

Prosecution told court presided over by Col John Baptist Mulindwa, the third division court-martial Chairman, that the duo on April 28th ambushed a UN convoy and killed Richard Achuka, a driver.

The duo burst into tears when the court martial Chairman ruled that they should be imprisoned in Maluku government prison, pending the next court-martial sitting.

In the same court, a 77 year-old man was sentenced to three years imprisonment for illegal possession of a firearm.

Akol Akorimuge, was found guilty of being in Posession of an illegal gun.
