47-year-old Man Murders Police Constable

A 47-year- old man in Kaberamaido has been charged with the murder of a police constable.

Paul Olobo, a resident of Obangai village, is accused of murdering Hassan Edonu, a police constable. Edonu had gone to Obangai village to arrest a suspected criminal when he was attacked and killed by Olobo a father to the suspect.

Olobo jumped on Edonu and beat her to death with a big stick. Olobo was arrested from his home on Christmas day.

Amazia Bogere, the District Police Chief, told mourners at Majengo B cell that the officer died at 6:30pm.

Relatives of the deceased stormed the police station on Boxing Day demanding that Olobo be released to them for lynching.
