Boroboro FC Stand in Manager Dismissed

Sport
The management of Boroboro Football Club have dismissed their stand-in manager, days after the team was defeated by visiting Police FC.

Police FC beat Boroboro FC during a tight game played on Sunday at Lango Sports Club ground.

A meeting chaired by club treasurer, Vincent Okuma at Total in Lira town yesterday resolved that Ebong be relieved of his post over a series of allegations.

The players led by Captain, Ogwal Engwedo accused their manager of receiving a million shillings from the Poilce side to ensure the visitors; presently top of the super league table earned a win for the away game in Lira.

The manager is also accused of pressuring the coach, Odong Vubia to make substitution, which is believed to have weakened the Boroboro side to facilitate the three points gift plan.

When contacted however, Ebong told Uganda Radio Network that he was a victim of a scheme by the treasurer of the club and team captain who collude to defraud the club.

He said the two were viewing his presence as a roadblock to their scheme but denied receiving any money from the visitors saying although as an ex Police officer, he supports Police FC he could not betray the club he manages.

Vien Obote, the club manager said Ebong was called to the meeting but declined to turn up raising uncertainty over the allegations.

The development come as the team prepares to play against Simba FC in Lira on Friday.
