Kitgum Woman Remanded for Murder

A 55-year-old woman in Kitgum has been remanded for the murder of her husband.
Santa Layet, a resident of Pagwe Awere Internally Displaced Peoples camp is charged with stabbing her husband to death.
The Grade one magistrate's court in Kitgum heard that Santa stabbed her husband Martin Okello in the stomach, using a kitchen knife. She left him bleeding till he died. She committed the offence on January 17th 2007.
Elias Kakooza, the grade one magistrate ruled that the accused must not enter into plea because the case against her is of capital nature and only tried by the high court.
