The spokesperson of the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB), Eve Konde, has said a total of 72,147 students sat for the examinations, which ended yesterday without major incidents of exam cheating.
However she does not rule out the possibility of malpractice.
Konde explained that UNEB received some allegations of cheating and is currently investigating reports from invigilators and area supervisors throughout to identify and deal with the problem.
In related news, marking of Primary Leaving Examinations and the O-Level examinations has started.
Konde said the marking exercise started early to ensure the timely release of results. The goal is for all Senior One and Senior Five students to start the new school year along with continuing students on February 6th.
