Election
John Mulimba, one of the contestants for the Samia Bugwe North Parliamentary seat has withdrawn from the race.

Mulimba was recently nominated to contest for the race as an independent candidate.

But according to a statement from the Electoral Commission, Mulimba wrote to the commission notifying the electoral body about his withdrawal from the parliamentary race.

In Abim, Akello Emma Leslie, an independent candidate for the Labwor Constituency Member of Parliament, has also withdrawn from the race.

The statement signed by Sister Margaret Magoba, the acting chairman of the electoral commission however states that that the electoral commission had already finished printing ballot papers for the by-election. The names, photographs, and symbols of the two candidates will still appear on the ballot papers.

But Magoba explains that any vote cast on polling day for Mulimba and Akello in their respective shall be invalid.
