Hoima RDC's Bodyguard Arrested for Murder

Crime
Police in Hoima are holding the RDC's bodyguard and a shamba boy in connection with the murder of a boda-Boda cyclist.
John Bahemuka, the criminal Investigations Officer has identified the suspects as John Barigye, the RDC's shamba boy and her bodyguard only identified as Okwir.
Godfrey Kyaligonza was killed on Sunday night shortly after he was hired by an unknown passenger. His body was found dumped in Kijungu, at the residence of Martha Asiimwe, the Hoima Resident District Commissioner.
The matter was brought to the attention of police by the RDC's body guard, prompting his arrest as the prime suspect.
According to the CID detective, Okwir and Kyaligonza have for long been embroiled in a row over a woman only identified as Sarah a resident in Hoima town. He says that the suspects will help police with the investigations into the murder.
The RDC has defended her bodyguard against the accusations. She says that the Boda Boda cyclist could have been killed by someone else who dumped the body in her compound to hide any clues.
The Boda Boda cyclists however maintain that their colleague was killed by Okwir because he had earlier threatened to kill the cyclist for having an affair with his lover. They have threatened to stage a peaceful demonstration protesting against the murder.
The Boda boda cyclists say want the RDC to explain how the body of the deceased ended up in her compound, despite the presence of tight security at her residence. They also demand to know why the bodyguard reported the matter to police the next day, many hours after Kyaligonza was killed.
