One person was this morning struck by lightening in Coo Pee internally displaced people's camp in Bungatira sub-county, Gulu district.
The man identified as Opiyo, was knocked unconscious when the lightning struck him in his hut, with enough force to kill the cows that were in the neighboring kraal.
Martin Ojara, a resident in the camp says Opiyo was rushed to Gulu Regional Referal Hospital in critical condition.
Okumu Lajubi, Coo Pee IDP camp leader, says the lightening that struck at 4:30am, was accompanied by a severe rainstorm which uprooted several trees in the area.
