Traffic Operation Strips Many of Vehicles

News
Close to 200 Police motorcycles and vehicles have been impounded by police for lack of road licenses.

The vehicles were impounded during a traffic operation conducted in Kabarole, Kasese, Kyenjojo and Bundibugyo districts
Martin Abilu, the Western Regional Police Commander, says that during the operation last week, several drivers were found operating without valid driving permits, and no third party.

The bodaboda cyclists on the other hand lacked helmets which he said are very vital in case the motorcyclist gets involved in an accident.

Abilu says police have embarked on an operation to crack down all vehicles without seat belts and motorcyclists with no helmets.
