The 15th edition of the National Schools Basketball Association (NASBA), organized national championships, kicks off Monday morning at Maryhill High School courts in Mbarara.
More than 50 teams are expected to participate in the tournament.
Edmund Lumu, the Basketball Association organizing Secretary, says that the one week basketball bonanza will see schools from Eastern, Western, Northern and Central regions of the country take part.
No school from Western and Northern Uganda has ever won the accolade, In the tournaments history.
The accolades have been dominated by Nabisunsa girls and Kitante Hill School.
Kings College Budo and Kibuli SS are the boys' and girls defending champions.
