The fortunes of Bishop Elijah Semugabi of Christ Faith Center in Kampala are slowly fading away.
The Bishop had set up several schools in and around Kampala purportedly to provide education to the less fortunate children in the communities.
But early this year, the Bishop's schools came under scrutiny for all the wrong reasons. He was accused of conning parents of their hard earned money, and subjecting the children to hard conditions.
The children confessed how they would go for days without a decent meal served to them, and many resorted to performing odd jobs around the school in order to raise some money to sustain their stay at the boarding schools.
At the Gayaza school there were no dormitories for the students and so at night, desks and chairs in the classrooms were pushed aside and converted into dormitories.
Most of the staff at the schools were very young and inexperienced at handling the large number of unhappy teenagers and could hardly be seen at the school during class hours.
