News
One person was killed and four others injured by lightening during a thunderstorm in Otuke County east of Lira district.

Sebenci Okonye, was praying at the Pentecostal Assemblies of God church, when lightening struck and killed him.

Four other people, who were also praying in the church, were injured and a bull grazing in the church yard was also struck and killed. The injured were rushed to a nearby clinic for treatment.

George Kamara Oyang, the Orum Sub County LC3 chairperson, says more than 200 hectares of crops were destroyed during the violent thunderstorm, and several houses swept away by the floods.

Orum Sub County is one of the areas that were worst hit by flooding last year. Many people were left without any food after their gardens were submerged in water.
