A family of three in Etiru village, in Arua district, has perished in a fire that gutted their hut.
Fred Matata, his wife Tiko Faidha and their two-year-old child, died last night after Matata's brother Richard Burua, decided to set the hut ablaze.
Julius Salube, the district police commander, says Burua's motive for hisd action is not yet clear.
But preliminary investigations show that Burua and his brother Matata have for sometime been embroiled in a land conflict.
Salube says that Burua is being held at Arua Central Police Station pending further investigations into the circumstances under which the family was killed.
