Sam Kuteesa the Sembabule district NRM chairman confirmed the summons for both Sekikubo and Namugura. He said the recent split in the party membership in Sembabule has led to massive defections to the opposition.
Elly Muhumuza, the Sembabule district NRM secretary, said Sekikubo has 30 days to file his defense. He said the MP will also be asked to explain claims he made on CBS Radio on Monday night that NRM rigged the by-elections in favor of its candidate.
In addition the NRM has also ordered Herman Ssentongo, the Sembabule district chairman, and Joy Kabatsi the independent candidate in teh elections, to return their party cards.
