Anti Child Trafficking Police Unit Starts Work

The Inspector General of Police Kale Kayihura has instituted a Police taskforce aimed at fighting child trafficking and human sacrifice.

Moses Binoga, the assistant commissioner of Police has been appointed to run the task force. The taskforce is charged with coordinating intelligence, monitoring and sensitizing the general public about human trafficking and sacrifice.

According to Binoga the taskforce will work directly under the CID, but officers from other sections like forensic department, immigration, education and foreign affairs are to be incorporated

Binoga says that his unit will establish an intelligence network through out the country so as to get instant information on cases of child trafficking and sacrifice. According to Binoga the task force started work early this week and is already gathering full data on missing children across the country

Over 180 children were reported missing between October and December last year across the country, while 18 other were sacrificed most prominent being 12 year old Joseph Kasirye. City businessman Geoffrey Kato Kajubi is in court over accusations of paying a witchdoctor to sacrifice Kasirye.
