Bukwo Mob Lynchs Woman

Crime
A mob in Kawimbi village of Bukwo district has lynched a woman for chopping her husband and two other people with a machete.

Evelyn Kyala hacked her husband Charles Kapkonyi for refusing to sale off their family cow to raise money for their treatment. Kyala and Kapkonyi have been living with HIV.

Bukwo district police commander Michael Nambafu says Kyala chopped Kapkonyi on Monday several times living him unconscious. Nambafu says that Kyala also hacked Fred Kwemoi and Chemosi Mifa who intervened to stop the attack.

He says residents later arrested Kyala and handed her to local council leaders but relatives of her husband over powered them and lynched her. Nambafu says the police have started investigating the incidents but no arrests have been made.
