Kayongo's Supporters hold Prayers to protest Humiliation

News
Muslims in Arua loyal to the rival Mufti Sheikh Zubair Kayongo, have held prayers to protest the beating and humiliation of their leader last week.
Kayongo's supporters held the prayers today at Masjid Nuru mosque in Tanganyika.
Police rejected a request by the group to hold a demonstration against Arua Kadhi sheikh Amin Amaga, for fear of disrupting business.
The rival group used today's prayers to announce Sheikh Muhammad Rizigala as parallel Kadhi. Shortly after his declaration, sheikh Muhammad Rizigala, accused the pro-Mufti Ramadhan Mubajje group in Arua of corruption.
He urged those who manhandled Kayongo and vandalized his car to apologize to the Muslim community in Arua.

Abdul Majid, the chairperson of the Kayongo, youth wing in Arua said that they had wanted to forcefully evict Amaga from office.
He said many of them wanted to hear from their leader last week but were not given chance by the selfish people in the Pro- Mubajje camp who chased his team.

However Sheikh Dawa Kato, the acting district Kadhi Arua said they are ready to face the Kayongo group. He said Kayongo was not elected in accordance with the UMSC constitution and will not be allowed to confuse people in Arua.

Kayongo and members of his Kibuli based administration received a rude welcome in Nebbi, Pakwach and Arua district during their first visit to the region.
