Masindi Transport Operators cut Fares by Half

Business
Transport fares from Masindi to Kampala have dropped by half.

Within the past week, transport fares have dropped from 14,000 shillings to 7,000 shillings.

The decrease was caused by the introduction of two new buses by Link Coaches Transport Company, bringing to 11, the number of busses plying the route.

To catch up with the development, taxis and the other bus companies have now cut their fares to 7,000 shillings.

Godfrey Musindi, a member of Masindi-Kitara taxi operators association says much as Link coaches has affected their business, it is health competition and it is up to each company to find innovative ways to beat the competition.

He says they have agreed neither to scuffle for nor manhandle passengers and whoever causes chaos would be arrested and dismissed.
