William Tuhairwe of Ruhimbo village in Isingiro district, has beheaded his wife Macklin Nayebaze, accusing her of infidelity.
Tuhairwe is currently admitted in hospital after a failed suicide attempt.
Polly Namaye, the South Western Region Police spokesperson says that Tuhairwe slaughtered, Nayebaze yesterday shortly after accusing her of engaging in extra marital affairs.
It is alleged that Tuhairwe, accused Nayebaze of sleeping with men who come to consume alcohol at their drinking joint.
Namaye says that after killing Nayebaze, Tuhairwe took poison to commit suicide but was rescued in time and rushed to hospital for treatment.
According to Namaye, Tuhairwe is out of danger. She says that Tuhairwe will be charged with murder when he fully recovers.
