MP Godi Assaulted by Relatives of his late Wife

Crime
Relatives of Rehema Nasur Caesar, the deceased wife of Arua Municipality MP, have roughed up the legislator accusing him of murdering their daughter.
Akbar Godi was roughed up yesterday at Diriwala in Pajulu Sub County. He had been invited to Diriwala by Nasuru Kafuu, his brother in law to discuss family matters.
However, on arrival, more than ten people intercepted his car beat up his driver, before Kafuu started slapping Godi, who was rescued by security men at the BAT plant.
While speaking from undisclosed location today, Godi said he escaped unhurt, but his driver Khalid Godi sustained severe injuries and is admitted in hospital. Godi said he has reported a case of assault at Police in Arua.
According to Godi, since returning to Arua on Friday last week, he has been trying in vain to meet his father in-law Nasur Waiga. Charles Erachu, the West Nile Regional police spokesman says that they are investigating the incident.

Godi's father in- law, Nasur Waiga said he is disappointed by the move taken by his children to beat the MP and vandalize his car.
Waiga says that he is only interested in the case of the death of his daughter and wants to see justice done.
Godi was arrested in December last after his estranged wife Rehema Caesar Nasur was shot dead near Mukono town.
