News
Three Ugandan businesswomen have been injured in a shoot-out between fighters of a Congolese militia and government forces.
Two of the three injured businesswomen now admitted at Fort Portal Referral hospital, are Norah Celestine Tumusime and Joyce Bujune from Rwebisengo Sub County.
Wilson Kwanya, the Western Region Police Commander says that the businesswomen were shot on Sunday night when fighting broke out between Ngiti militias and Congolese soldiers at Buguma detach, 15 kilometers from the Uganda boarder.
He says that Joyce Bujune and Celestine Tumusiime were shot in the chest while trying to flee the fighting.
Kwanya says that the Mobile Police Patrol Unit (MPPU) has been deployed to ensure that the militias don't cross into Rwebisengo Sub County and destabilize the people.
Buguma market is usually frequented by women traders from Ntoroko and Rwebisiengo in Bundibugyo district.
