The death toll from an accident involving students of St. Joseph Nkoni Secondary School has risen to three.
The accident occurred in Kapchorwa yesterday along the Mount Elgon foothills. It occurred as the students of St. Joseph Nkoni, which is in Masaka, were headed for a study tour of the Sipi Falls.
Two students died on the spot.
This morning, doctors at Mbale Referral Hospital announced another student, Ronald Pokol, passed away.
Dr. David Mudoba says a team of medics worked around the clock to save Pokol's life but were unable to do so.

Three other injured students are in critical condition. They are admitted at Mbale Referral Hospital.
Dr. Mudoba says one of the students, Betty Namulome, is out of danger. Despite this her relatives plan to move her to Mulago Hospital for more care.
Namulome, who suffered deep cuts to the forehead and the arm, says she has been x-rayed since she was admitted yesterday. She is shaken and in pain and cannot recount the events that led to yesterday's accident.
