Buganda Information Minister Arrested

Politics
Medard Lubega Segona, the Buganda Kingdom Minister of Information, has been arrested by the police. Segona was reportedly picked up by police and UPDF soldiers early this morning.
It is not clear exactly why he was arrested or where he is being held. Reports that Betty Namboozo, the outspoken Democratic Party spokesperson, has also been arrested, are unconfirmed.
In the meantime Kampala city center is tense although no rioting has been reported around Owino Market, Luwum Street, St. Balikuddembe Streets, Namirembe Road or Nakasero Market Square. There is heavy deployment of the military around the Mengo Bulange area, which is the seat of the Buganda Kabaka, Ronald Musenda Mutebi.
The taxi parks are slowly resuming business. However because of the scare public transport, available taxis are charging twice or thrice the amount of money for a normal route. They are also overloading the taxis, placing five or six people on a three-person seat.
In the latest news on the ongoing media gag, Peter Kibazo, a talkshow host with programs on WBS TV and Radio Simba, has been indefinately suspended from his duties at WBS.
During Kibazo's show on WBS last night, several comments made by one of his panelists, Robert Kalundi Serumaga, were considered salacious and provocative. Serumaga was picked up by plain-clothed security officers shortly thereafter and taken to an unknown location.
Earlier today, Kibazo's show on Radio Simba was ordered off the air by the Broadcasting Council.
