Bundibugyo district is pursing contractors who were awarded tenders to construct classrooms and latrines but did shoddy work.
The Rwenzori Anti Corruption Coalition alleges that latrines and classrooms at constructed at Rwebisengo, Kanara and Kasitu primary school are substandard.
Geoffrey Kasuka, the coordinator of Rwenzori Anti Corruption Coalition says in the some of the project the contractors were paid without completing work.
He also says that during their monitoring exercise they found rampant cases of corruption involving contractors and officials of the District Education Department.
Kasuka, who has promised to mobilize residents to demonstrate, wants all officials accused of involvement in corruption charged.
Esau Ishabirwe, the District Education Officer Bundibugyo says that they have started pursuing contractors who did shoddy work for prosecution.
He however accuses parents, head teachers and members of school management committees of failing to supervise work in their schools.
Ishabirwe says that because of the shoddy works some of the teachers posted to some schools in the district refuse to report, leading to poor perfomance.
