Tororo district is up in arms against Uganda land Commission for allegedly selling off the official residence of the LC V chairperson, without consulting the district leadership.
The house under contention is located on Plot 6-8 on Osukulu road in Tororo Municipality.
The district administration accuses Uganda Land Commission of selling off the house to Lt Kayondo Mulowoza, the former RDC Tororo without notification.
Trouble started when Lt Kayondo through Kassim and company advocates wrote to the LC V chairperson Emmanuel Osuna directing him to sign a tenancy agreement, effective August 1st this year or quit the house.
Osuna is protesting the sale of the district house by Uganda Land Commission without consulting the district administration.
He says that action of Uganda Land Commission undermines the powers of Tororo District Local Government.
Osuna, who current occupies the house, says Tororo district administration will not surrender the house and will seek litigation in courts of law.
He says that they have already written to the presidency Minister Beatrice Wabudeya to intervene over the illegal transaction.
Osuna says that Tororo district is not opposed to the sale but they should be involved in the process.
