Authorities in Bundibugyo district are trading accusations following the failure by primary seven and senior four candidates to seat Mock exams this year.
Students of S4 and pupils in primary schools national wide sat mock examinations between 6th -12 August 2009.
Esau Ishabirwe, the District Education Officer says that schools in the district missed on mock examinations as a result of lack of funds.
Ishabirwe says central government has not sent money to the education department, which is making it difficult to implement their programs.
However, Elias Byamungu, the district Chief Administrative Officer blames the education department for fairing to prepare students for the mock examinations.
Byamungu says U.P.E funds came and were disbursed to the education department.
He accuses officials in the district education department of being weak, lazy and corrupt.
Byamungu, who insists that the education department is slow, has ordered them has ordered them to prepare mock exams and have them done by end of this week.
He warned to submit that names of affected officials to the district service commission for disciplinary action unless the exams are done within, a weeks time.
Byamungu explains that that the education system has been deteriorating in the district because of week and lazy stakeholders.
