Jinja Police Investigating Mysterious Deaths

Police in Jinja have started investigating the cause of death of a Whiteman and a woman whose bodies were recovered yesterday.

The identity of the white man has not yet been established, while the woman has only been identified as Sylvia from Ntenje, along Nyenga road in Mukono.

Sylvia whose body was recovered from Njeru town council along Republic Street is believed to have been murdered by unknown assailants.

Celebu Kamugisha, chairperson of Njeru market located in Njeru triangle zone says that Slyvia has been common in the area although little is known about her.

He says such deaths are common towards the end of the year.

While the body of the unidentified white was recovered from River Nile in Kyabirwa village, in Budondo sub county.

It is believed the deceased could more than five days ago.
William Wandera a fisherman a long the R. Nile found the body afloat the water in the morning at 5am, when he went to check on his fishing nets.

He later informed his friend Julius Mutalya, who helped drag the body to show and protect it from floating away.

The deceased was dressed in white stockings, a pair of blue jeans and an army green T- shirt.

Acting Jinja DPC, Maxson Okidi says some one called police informing them of a floating body of a white man on the R. Nile.

Okidi says they have started investigating both murdered and to establish the nationalist of the white man.

Bodies of both victims were taken to Jinja hospital mortuary.
