Hoima FC Beats Kinyara FC in Historic Match

Hoima FC has beaten Kinyara FC 2-nil at Hoima Stadium in their second National super League Game and the first-ever Super League Game ever to be played in Hoima town.
Hoima FC, which joined the national ranks this year, did not disappoint its fans in the match played on Wednesday evening. Hundreds of people including Bunyoro Kingdom officials, religious leaders, the business community of Hoima and schools students attended the historic game.
The game attracted people from as far as Buliisa and Kibaale districts. Transport companies from Masindi slashed transport fares from 10,000 to 6,000 shillings to allow many people to travel to Hoima to support Kinyara FC. However they returned home disappointed.
Boban Zirintusa scored the first goal in the 37th minute to wild ululations.
Kinyara, who are superior to Hoima FC in experience and style were left struggling. In the last 20 minutes of the game Kinyara attempted to take charge, but were thwarted by Gilbert Okello struck for Hoima FC in the 80th minute .
The score was a blow Kinyara that beat Maji FC 1-nil in their opening game in Masindi. Hoima FC didn't have much luck in its season opener. It was beaten by KCC FC 2-0 last weekend.
Wasswa Bossa, the Hoima FC coach said after losing to KCC he concentrated his efforts at striking. He said Wednesday's game augurs well for Hoima's future in the Super League.
