Two people have died and 20 others seriously injured, in an accident in Budaka.
The accident occurred this morning at Kabwangasi corner, along the Kamonkoli- Kabwangasi road.
The deceased are Ibrahim Wandera and Mawazi, all residents of Nabiganda in Butaleja.
The injured travelers who are yet to be identified, were rushed for treatment at Butaleja and Mbale regional hospitals.
Ahmed Madiri, the acting Budaka DPC says that the accident occurred when the driver of the ill fated accident pickup of registration number UAJ 260U failed to negotiate a sharp bend.
The vehicle overturned killing the two passengers instantly.
He says that the vehicle had over 40 passengers who were going for a burial in Kabwangasi.
Eye witnesses are blaming the accident on reckless driving.
